what is Clyde's Hope?

Wee WalkClyde’s Hope is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide education and assistance to hospice patients and their families. We stand behind the philosophy that hospice is not about death, but about helping patients make the most of the time they have left.

Our volunteers, including both professionals and laypeople, work in tandem with hospice agencies to provide services that complement those already provided by hospice. Our organization continually raises funds in order to meet patients’ needs, whatever those needs might be.

Pot of Gold ResultsAt Clyde’s Hope, we also seek opportunities to raise awareness and educate others about hospice. It is our goal to make patients aware that this much-needed service exists and to provide information about their rights under the hospice benefit.

In addition, we provide patients and families with information pertaining to specific terminal illnesses and additional sources of support. Our organization also supports other foundations that provide education on terminal illness and related assistance. It is important that patients and family members know and understand what to expect during the difficult days ahead of them.

Clyde’s Hope does not promote a specific hospice, but we make available any information provided by various hospices so that patients and families can make educated decisions about their hospice care.

In Memory of Clyde

I never thought you’d leave so soon
I wish I’d had more time with you.
I miss the things that we shared.
When words weren’t needed to show we cared.
Thank you Daddy for all you gave
So I could face life strong and brave
How I wish to see you once more
I’d tell you I love you evermore.
And on this day I must confess
I miss you more instead of less.
And so I honor you – my Dad
With this great dream that I’ve had.
I pledge to help those who are weak
On this journey their souls do seek.
I promise to help ease the way
By giving comfort and love each day.
Clyde’s Hope is for you Dad with all my love
So please guide and direct me from above.

hospice need to know

Hospice is not about death. Hospice is about making the best of the life that is left. Consider bringing a blessing into your own life by being a part of the final days of someone else’s life. Being able to provide for them what they cannot provide for themselves. This should be an honor as well as a blessing. If you or your family member has been touched by hospice, you will appreciate the goals of Clyde’s Hope.
